ON behalf of the York branch I thank all our supporters and volunteers who gave their time so unstintingly during 2001 to enable the Alzheimer's Society to support to all those with dementia and their carers in the York area.
We owe a tremendous debt to all our volunteers, who work as befrienders, committee members, fundraisers, or in our office.
As always, we are very grateful to the people who contributed to three collections in the city centre and Acomb and raised a massive £2,511 last year - £940.30 in April, £705.82 in July and £864.99 in November.
I thank the Evening Press for its coverage of our Awareness Week in July and for our Tesco Charity Of The Year events. We collected £1,855 from Tesco shoppers at the two York stores.
Janet Dean,
Chair, York branch of Alzheimer's Society, The Retreat, York.
