MIDFIELDER Lee Bullock hailed York City's FA Cup performance and the result against Grimsby as one of the best of his burgeoning City career.
"It was brilliant for everyone that we won," he said.
"There was a lot at stake for the club, the supporters and any potential new buyers who may have been watching."
But Bullock and Darren Edmondson paid a price for last night's heroics.
Both are set to miss the vital match against Hull City on Tuesday, January 29 after picking up bookings against the Mariners last night.
They earned their fifth cautions of the season, which leads to an automatic one-match ban. However, that suspension does not start until after the Cup fourth round clash against Fulham on Saturday, January 26, meaning they will be available for that tie.
They instead miss the home Division Three match against Hull, which was rearranged for January 29 after being postponed on Boxing Day because of a frozen Bootham Crescent pitch.
City reserves are in Avon Insurance League action tonight against Bury at Bootham Crescent (7pm).
York City's reserves: Howarth, Thompson, Stamp, Fox, Smith, Vasey, Salvati, Wood, Mathie, Duffield, O'Kane. Subs: Emmerson, Collinson, Darlow, Ibbotson, Davies.
