York Acorn 'A's challenge for the Yorkshire League division three title seems over after a 48-20 defeat by unbeaten leaders Hunslet Old Boys.
After competing well for the first 50 minutes, Acorn were blown apart in the final
quarter.
Their plight hadn't been helped by the ninth-minute sending off of full-back Kevin Brundett for tripping, however centre Shaun Gilmoor, prop Adam Endersby and scrum-half Paul Sawyer all worked tirelessly to inspire the 12 men.
The home team kept themselves in contention until Hunslet's late flurry thanks to tries from Nicky Caldwell (2) and Paul Sawyer to go with four Craig Fox goals.
