SEVEN sixth form students from Bootham School in York have been offered places to study at Cambridge or Oxford universities.
The four who are off to Oxford include Ben Burnett, who is to read physics at Lincoln College, Peter Clements, to read modern history at Lady Margaret Hall, Stephanie Grice, to read biochemistry at Oriel College, and Daisy Hildyard, to read French at St John's College.
Cambridge places have been offered to Nina Dunn, to read geography at St Catharine's College, James Roberts, to read English at Corpus Christi and William Try, to read geography at Fitzwilliam College.
The school is also celebrating the success of former student Jeremy Heywood, who gained a first from Hartford College, Oxford. Jeremy is now principle private secretary to Tony Blair and was made a Companion of the Order of the Bath in the recent New Year's Honours List.
