ALTHOUGH the board have not been open and above board in their dealings, this is only because they have been allowed to be, by the failure of the citizens of York to put their hands in their pockets and come out and support their team.
When the club have a good cup run and they are drawn against the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool or Arsenal, the ground is heaving and true supporters have great difficulty in obtaining a ticket. But when the cup run is over and the opponents are the likes of Halifax, only 2,500 stalwart supporters put in an appearance.
No, the demise of York City FC is due solely to the lack of support from the people of York.
