THE comment made by Brian Lomax (Evening Press, Tuesday, January 8) in which he states "Supporters through the gates put more money into football clubs" hit the nail smack on the head!
I will put myself at the mercy of whoever and say that the reason we don't get the crowds to City games is down to one thing - we are rubbish.
Who, in their right mind, is going to fork out the admission fee to watch a team which will never win anything?
Some may say that if more people came to games then the money generated would buy better players etc.
Utter rubbish. Take a look at the side that won the title in 1984, most of them were sold once a decent offer came in for them.
