MR Craig has cannily retained all assets of any value giving any potential purchaser of the Football Club nothing of any worth they could use as security.
However, part of the proposal includes the Wigginton Road training ground. This is unsurprising because its current value is as agricultural land and is fairly worthless.
City of York Council have expressed a deep desire to do all in their power to help the club survive short of stumping up any cash. Well councillors, put your words into action.
Promise any purchaser of the Football Club that you would grant planning permission for housing at the Wigginton Road site and you instantly create an asset worth several million pounds.
This would provide either security against a loan or cash to purchase Bootham Crescent Holdings.
Whether Mr Craig would honour his word to give away the training ground if he thought such a deal could be struck is a moot point.
M Ferguson,
Faber Close,
Copmanthorpe, York.
