RAY McInally increased his hotly contested York John Smith's Men's League Three Fastest Finishes competition lead with a superb 180 for 15 darts.
However, Poacher lost ground in the race for the division one title. Cygnet conversely improved theirs with a 6-3 win, John Mooring starring with 19 darts.
There were three bull finishes recorded by John Dykes, Mark Miller and McInally.
The leaders, Sun, went behind to big games by Flag's Paul Calpin then Gordon Foster (20), who included four tons-plus pair scores, but struck back with Doug Sutcliffe (20) Chris Thomson (17) and 180 scorer Tony Cooper to win 6-3.
Barry Noble again gave Dringhouses a dream 16-dart lead but Shepherd 'A' took the match 7-2, which included good games from Mick Willsden (20) and Mark Jones (19) who partnered Dave Gibbons to a 23-dart 701. Willsden (96) and Chas Ramsden (98) hit clinical pair finishes.
Shepherd 'B' were given a 5-4 result at Yearsley by Jim Leach-Keith Jones, while Saddle scored well but none found the required double against Trafalgar.
Twenty-one darts from Gary Wensley set Green Tree 'B' off to victory at Vaults, which was sealed by Dave Fotheringham before including a pairs maximum. In reply Mark Gamble shot a splendid 21 darts.
Osbaldwick consolidated the division two lead with a 5-4 result over second-placed Holgate, whose Mick Brookes gamed on bullseye.
John Holden opened for the leaders with 180 for 19 darts, while Mick and Mark Addinall clinched the winner.
Barry Houlden was a 180 scorer but Groves went down to Cygnet 'B' team's last pair Derek Hartley-Keith Graham.
Kev Adkins-Adrian Gray took Institute 'B' team's victory at Green Tree 'A', while Kevin Richmond jnr, with 20 darts, and 21 by Bruce Alexander steered Slip to a 7-2 at Phoenix.
Lighthorseman won 6-3 but lost a very valuable aggregate point to Swan's number nine pair Paul Hayes-Barry McLaughlin.
York Monday Night League are seeking new teams for the season to commence at the end of January.
