But delegates attending the Harrogate Toy Fair are the crack troops of Christmas. They train all year round on a diet of turkey and plum pudding.
With only 348 days until December 25, they must decide now which will be this year's must-have toy, to ensure that stocks are low enough to cause panic-buying and parental hysteria in 11 months' time.
