CONCERNS were voiced at Monday night's public meeting that the working party set-up to examine the feasibility of a York City Supporters' Trust was already too large - even before it gets to work.
A total of 22 nominations were received and accepted on to the Save City Committee at Tempest Hall, with more supporters signing-up to the working party at the end of the meeting.
The committee, which now has over 30 members, will meet for the first time on Saturday, prior to City's home game with Torquay United.
Brian Lomax, of Supporters' Direct, defended the principles behind the setting up of the working party and the fact every fan who had offered their services had been signed-up to the cause regardless of their skills.
"You cannot have an election for a committee at this stage because you haven't got a membership and therefore you have not got a register of electors," explained Lomax.
"In some cases, we have had over 50 people on the working parties at Tottenham and Wimbledon.
"But it needs to be open to all who feel they can add something to the process."
Lomax continued: "The working party brings back to the next open meeting a set of recommendations, a constitution, banking policies, strategies and objectives.
"At that point, the trust is launched and memberships can then be sought, people can be enrolled and you go on from there."
The committee to date is:
