...WE note with interest, and some amusement, the article featuring Trevor Kidd and his newformed Band of Renown, belatedly campaigning in favour of the Land Securities proposals for Coppergate Riverside.
No one should be surprised. Mr Kidd told us some time ago that he owns two penthouses in Piccadilly Plaza, built by Persimmon, and he has recently developed a block of luxury apartments off Bootham, again built by Persimmon, a fact reported in your own newspaper.
Need we say more?

...Trevor Kidd and his group Friends Of Riverside are distributing 10,000 leaflets and 500 posters in and around York advising us that the Coppergate inquiry is very nearly upon us. The date is January 15 in the Guildhall.
It's a pity we have not seen much from the council advertising the public inquiry.
Why is it left to Mr Kidd, who presumably is paying for this out of his own pocket, to publicise what the council should be doing?
Good on you Mr Kidd, keep up the good work.
Dave Dee Hughes,
