I THANK all Evening Press readers who kindly donated gifts to the women and the children at York Women's Aid refuge. Mums had a great time, and the children were thrilled with their presents, each had a stocking filled to the brim to open on Christmas morning.
We had the usual build up to Santa's arrival, the children left out mince pies and milk and sprinkled magic reindeer food on the garden for Rudolph.
As you can see by the following letters, they had a very special day, which would not have been possible without your reader's generosity. Many thanks to everyone who thought of us.
Lisa,
York Women's Aid.
...Dear Santa, thank you for my presents. My favourite is my scooter.
The other ones are neat too.
I had a good time, I hope you did too. I hope you liked your mince pie and drink of milk I left out for you. And I hope Rudolf liked his magic food.
Ashley
York Women's Aid.
...THANKS so much for all the wonderful gifts you donated. The children and I are thrilled with them, as are the other members of our household.
I thought Christmas this year would be hard for us, but thanks to your generosity everyone had a great time. You really have the spirit of Christmas in your heart.
The look upon the kids' faces when they saw Santa had been made my year, not just my Christmas!
I can't thank you enough.God bless.
YWA resident.
