I am devastated. I was about 80 per cent sure that I would get on one of the England tours, if not the senior tour, so not to be selected was gutting.

And the fact I haven't heard from anyone in the England set-up makes it worse.

I was in the Test squad on home soil and the only thing that stopped me playing during the Ashes series was my back injury - yet even though I'm fit I can't get in the 18-man squad to go abroad.

Listening to the way they talked and how they organised the back scan for me, I was under the impression that if I could get fit I would be in the main squad for the tour or at least one of the other two touring squads.

But I haven't even heard from them at all. I'm hoping to get an explanation or a reason for my not being involved.

It would be good of them just to say, "This is what you've got to do to get into the squad," so that I know what I need to do and what I have to work on and work for. But as it is I'm left out in the dark wondering what it is I've done wrong and what I have to do to get back into the squad.

It's a very disappointing end to the year in which I've done so well, but there's no point crying over spilt milk. I've just got to get on with it.

Of course, none of this has put a dampener on the Championship celebrations - nothing could put a dampener on that.

It has been a great squad effort and the whole thing at Scarborough when we actually won the title was awesome.

There was a phenomenal atmosphere among the fans and up on the balcony after the game. The whole field was jam-packed.

It's up there with the best and proudest moments of my career, along with making my debut for England and taking my first five-for.

You can't really put it into words. It is something I will always remember - but not only was it memorable, it was very drunken as well. The boys celebrated in some style.

We stayed in the dressing room for a couple of hours chatting, drinking and singing, and on the way back to the hotel we had a bit of a pub crawl. Then we got changed and it was straight back down to the bar. It all ended about 2am.

A lot of fans also joined up with us in Scarborough and we all mixed together. It was superb to see so many stay and help us celebrate.

Saying that, this was just a warm-up for the end of the season. We will get the final game out of the way and no doubt we'll then go ballistic.

As for this coming winter, I don't yet know what I'm going to do now that I won't be touring.

I've got a few ideas milling around in my head but we will have to wait and see what happens. I've left my options open.
