WITH reference to the report Vet plan helps needy (December 21), the PDSA would like to expand on Mr Stead's response by detailing the charity's service in York.
PDSA-funded treatment is available through three veterinary practices: Anderson, Robertson, Fagan & Howard in Fulford Road, York Road, Acomb and East Parade, Heworth; the Minster Vet Practice in Salisbury Road, supermarket arcade, Haxby and Black Lane, Copmanthorpe, and ST Stead, Plantation Drive, Acomb.
To qualify, pet owners need to live within postcode areas Y01-3, Y010, Y019, Y023-24, Y026 and Y030-32 and receive either housing benefit or council tax benefit. It is essential to pre-register before free treatment can be given under the scheme.
The practices can provide further details and application forms, more information is also available from the PDSA's inquiry line on 0800 731 2502.
