COACH Adie Shaw has pledged York City will keep their gaze focused on Grimsby after the draw for the fourth round of the FA Cup gave the Minstermen a potential clash with Premiership class.

Providing they beat the Mariners in their replay, City will meet either Wycombe Wanderers or Fulham at Bootham Crescent in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

City, the lowest placed team still left in the competition, drew 0-0 at Blundell Park in Saturday's third round tie with the replay against the Mariners confirmed for Tuesday, January 15, at Bootham Crescent, kick-off 7.45pm.

City's second in command Shaw admitted the prospect of Premiership Fulham at Bootham Crescent is a major incentive for City to see-off Grimsby.

"But it's all ifs and buts at the moment," he said.

"Of course, everyone wants a Premiership club and Fulham would be fantastic. But Wycombe have a very good Cup pedigree having got to the semi-finals last year.

"But we have still got a very hard game to get over against Grimsby Town first and we have to beat Grimsby before we can even start thinking about the next round."

Bossed by Jean Tigana, money-bags Fulham have enjoyed a meteoric rise from Division Three to the Premiership inside five years.

Included in the Craven Cottage ranks are Dutch international goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, French striker Louis Saha and possibly Norwegian international John Carew.

Carew is poised to join the Cottagers after agreeing personal terms although Fulham and Spanish outfit Valencia have yet to agree on a proposed £7.5million fee.

Carew is a member of the Norwegian branch of the

Scarborough Supporters' Club and has played at the McCain Stadium.

Carew, now 22, came on a school visit to North Yorkshire seven years ago and remains a keen fan of the Seasiders.

While at Scarborough, Carew joined in training sessions with Ian Kerr, now back as youth team coach after a short spell as manager.

However, Second Division Wycombe will provide stiff opposition for Fulham.

Last year they reached the FA Cup semi-finals before bowing out to eventual winners Liverpool and are bossed by FA Cup winner Lawrie Sanchez.

Fulham and Wycombe's third round tie at Adams Park was postponed on Saturday because of a frozen pitch and has been rescheduled for tomorrow night.

Manchester United have been installed as 7/2 favourites to win the FA Cup by William Hill following the fourth round draw. Sir Alex Ferguson's side have been cut to 6/1 for the Premiership-FA Cup Double and 25/1 to repeat their Treble triumph of 1999 by also landing the Champions League.
