FORMER Hull City chairman Martin Fish today ruled himself out of the running to take over York City.
Speaking to the Evening Press, the former Tigers' chief rubbished speculation he was a potential bidder for the club.
"I think people have got the wrong end of the stick," he said.
"It is not something I have considered and it is not something I could afford, even if I wanted to."
Fish, who runs his own firm of chartered accountants, was in charge at Boothferry Park when current City boss Terry Dolan was manager of Hull.
Fish said: "I have got a good relationship with Douglas Craig and I have been to see the odd game at his invitation. But that is as far as it goes.
"I was previously chairman at Hull City when Terry Dolan was the manager so whether people have put two and two together and come up with five I don't know. But it is definitely not true. You can count me out."
