THE owners, Bootham Crescent Holdings, have put just the football club 'up for sale'.
It is offered free to anyone with genuine intentions and who is willing to provide certain guarantees to the sellers.
The club can be taken over with no debt.
However, whoever takes over the club will inherit the same problems that face the current owners; the weekly shortfall - around £24,000 at the last count - between its income and its outgoings.
Although it is only the football club that is up for sale at the moment, chairman Douglas Craig has repeatedly said BCH could also be sold if the price was right.
BCH own not only the football club and Bootham Crescent but also the training ground at Wigginton Road, a property on Grovesnor Terrace, where some of the club's trainees are housed, and land near the Bumper Castle public-house on the Wigginton road, where the training complex was to be originally sited.
Craig has remained coy on the subject of an asking price for BCH.
However, The Evening Press revealed yesterday that City's ground alone would be expected to fetch around £4million if it went on the market.
