A FORMER York church looks set to be replaced by 24 new homes.
St Hilda's Church, which was in Tang Hall Lane, York, was pulled down in 2000.
Planning permission was granted to build a replacement church next to the existing vicarage.
City of York Council is now considering plans for the homes, including access roads, parking space and landscaping.
The two-storey houses would be arranged in three terraces in a T-shaped layout.
The area has been earmarked for residential development since 1997, although it was initially intended for flats.
But the council's highway regulation department has requested a meeting with developers to re-consider plans.
A spokesman said: "The layout of the development and means of access lacks any innovation and is very disappointing.
"Whilst car parking standards are achieved in terms of residents, the visitor parking is inadequate, which is the main cause for concern.
"A meeting is being held with the architects in an attempt to resolve this."
Councillors will discuss the application when they meet on Monday.
They have been recommended to give permission if the issue of visitor parking is resolved.
