York and District Umpires' Association's annual winter course will start on Sunday, January 6.
The course is being held at Acomb Cricket Club and the starting time is 9.30am.
The course, which is an in-depth examination of the laws of cricket lasting about 10 weeks, is open to all current umpires who wish to have refresher sessions before next season, any aspiring new umpires, players and club officials.
The association cater for training umpires throughout the York area irrespective of which league officials might wish to umpire, be it Wetherby League, York Vale League or York and District Senior League.
