ONE of North Yorkshire's motor sport stalwarts, Roger Milner, has died at his Harrogate home at the age of 72.
He was a notable trials rider on Norton machines in the 1940s and 1950s.
Mr Milner held the position of Yorkshire Centre Auto Cycle Union president, and was a life member of the centre.
He was the first winner of the Horsforth club's Basic Memorial Trial in 1950 and once won the Bradford Motor Club Group Trial riding with a broken arm on a borrowed Matchless machine.
Mr Milner's father, Bill, was also a noted official in the sport. He became secretary of the Yorkshire Centre ACU in 1928 - a post later taken on by Roger.
A master butcher, Roger Milner, leaves a widow, Sheila.
Funeral arrangements have yet to be announced.
