YORK City boss Terry Dolan had little reason to quibble after the Minstermen signed off 2001 with a battling display in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Shrewsbury Town.
It was City's first outing since the shock news that the club is up for sale and their first game in two weeks following successive postponements.
"I can't complain and bearing in mind the circumstances of the last ten days I think it is an excellent point for us," said the City manager.
"We have been wanting to play a game, We have had two weeks of inactivity, and preparing for two games up until the last minute when they are called off doesn't help.
"But at least we have got something from the game, which I think was important.
"Shrewsbury are a decent team and showed they were ready for a battle.
"But we were ready for it too and bearing in mind the conditions as well I think it was an entertaining game for the supporters."
Dolan added: "Certainly in the first-half, I thought we played as good football as we have played at home for some time.
"But unfortunately we found ourselves a goal down.
"I just said to the players at half-time 'there's not much for me to say, just keep at it and keep believing in yourselves'.
"Our goal was well-worked and Lee Nogan, who has come back into the team, stuck it in the corner of the goal neatly."
