TAKE a good look at Evening Press photographer David Harrison's picture on the left - it is a rarity.

It is from Huntington Rovers home game against Pocklington Town - the only match in the entire Leeper hare York and District League to survive Saturday's icy blast.

It shows Huntington's Pat Noon thumping the ball past the Pocklington goalkeeper from the penalty spot.

To find out how the game finished, turn to Page 24.

Only one match was played in the Northern Counties east League while a handful were played in the UniBond league programme.

It was little better in rugby union with the Selby v Pocklington Yorkshire One clash at Sandhill Lane one of the few to be played in Yorkshire.

To find out how that derby encounter ended, turn to Page 25.
