YORK RI visited Nestl Rowntree in Men's Division One of the York Badminton League and ran out 9-0 winners.
Jonathan Main and Tim Vickers were the pick of the Institute pairs by winning all three in straight sets for a return of 90-32.
Men's Division One also saw Shepherds snatch a 5-4 home win over IT Sports. Paul Blackett and Mike Molson took three IT wins for 90-40 but Ian Eaton and Sean Ogley swung the match in Shepherd's favour with an 11 and 8 over Phil Dyson and Charles Stuart.
Selby Jubilee were good value for a 7-2 home win over Huntington in Men's Division Two. Roy Cannon and Andy Hatfield took three Jubilee wins for 103-59 but had to work hard for a 13-15 15-9 15-9 over Paul Moisley and Ian Macauley.
Rowntree 'A' beat their 'B' team clubmates by an 8-1 margin in Mixed Division One. The match was closer than the final score suggests with Paul Grant and Helen Shepherd taking the 'A' team honours with a return of 99-74. Jeff Whittaker and Brenda Drummond took the 'B' team point with a 13-15 15-13 17-15 over Mark Barker and Joan Emmerson.
University Students 'B' were given a tough match by Sheriff Hutton before winning 8-1 at the Campus Sports Centre. Nick Burton and Caroline Grubb took the Student honours with three wins for 103-59. Dave Grieve and Jo Wade took the Sheriff point with a 15-5 15-17 15-7 over Simon Taylor and Alex Darlington.
RI Tuesday/Thursday travelled to Millthorpe and won the Mixed Two fixtures by a 6-3 scoreline. Paul Elliott and Anne Casper put in the best Millthorpe display by winning all their three rubbers for a return of 90-40.
Easingwold, going well in Mixed Three, added to their tally with a 6-3 away win over Drax 'C'. Phil Young and Alison Monk took three wins for the visitors to return 99-76, including a 7-15 15-11 15-8 over John Formby and Janet Craft who took two Drax wins.
YUSC 'A' visited Pocklington 'B' and won 9-0 in Mixed Division Four. Sally Locker and Simon Fletcher were the pick of the Staff Club pairs, taking all three in straight sets for a season best return of 90-42.
Drax 'D' put in a tremendous home display to beat Tadcaster 86 8-1 in Mixed Four. Anthony Boyes and Di McKechnie topscored for Drax with three wins for 98-57 whilst M Harrod and A Cooper took the visitors' consolation with a 15-11 4-15 15-7 over John Donnelly and Steph Bevan.
Knavesmire snatched a ninth rubber 5-4 home win over YUSC 'A' in Mixed Division Five. Gary Turner and Sue Scott took three Staff Club wins for 106-79, but Paul Rogers and Janet Brooks kept their nerve for the home team and won the bonus points with a 15-4 17-14 over Julie Affleck and Steve Hau.
University Students 'C' continued their domination of Mixed Division Six with a 9-0 home win for Pocklington 'C'. Simon Croall and Helen Robinson were untroubled in taking three straight wins for 90-20.
