AS parents of four children, three of whom have a collection of 96 trophies won in snooker competitions, I must congratulate both York Barbican Centre and World Snooker in general.
Our children had a fantastic time. Kevin, 13, Steven, 12, and Lee spent every day there for two weeks watching matches and playing in the Cue Zone area where even our four-year-old daughter, Lauren, had a dabble on the computers.
Staff from the Barbican and World Snooker were very efficient and polite and took time to talk to the children whenever possible.
I would drop them off at about 4.30pm (homework permitting) and had the reassurance of knowing they were safe and doing something they enjoy at the same time. Roll on next December.

...THANKS to all at City of York Council involved in bringing snooker to the Barbican, particularly co-ordinator Leon Shouksmith and his staff for such a smoothly-run event.
