York RSPCA animal care assistant Marie Sandall, with Willy the doberman, who is looking for a new home this Christmas.
The eight-year-old dog is appealing for animal lovers to help him and his friends who have been rescued by the RSPCA and are staying at the charity's Landing Lane base, in York. He was rescued by the charity three months ago after being thrown from a car.
An RSPCA spokeswoman said: "We need homes for animals all year round, but we can be particularly busy with Christmas.
"However, we would remind people that caring for an animal should not be taken lightly, and should only be done after a lot of thought."
