CARL Barrow has become the latest player to be given a chance to shine by York Wasps coach Leo Epifania.
The 19-year-old has been training with Wasps in this last fortnight and was given a small taste of Northern Ford Premiership action as a brief second-half substitute in Wasps' defeat by Batley on Sunday.
The Evening Press has learnt he worked up through the junior ranks at amateur outfit New Earswick All Blacks and was now looking to break into the professional game, signing on trial with the Huntington Stadium club.
The second row was with Wasps Academy as a youngster and had a spell at Castleford Alliance last season before returning to All Blacks this term.
Wasps are next in action at Hunslet, who are also without a win after three league games, on Sunday.
