WELL done to the Barbican Centre and everyone else involved in making York's first year as host to the UK Snooker Championship such a triumph.
It was a success on every level. Many players were highly complimentary about the tournament's new home, including champion Ronnie O'Sullivan who described it as "A1".
Thousands of people travelled to York to watch the games, and the city benefited from high profile television coverage.
It has been great for York to stage a national event of such calibre and prominence. Roll on next year's championships.
