MEMBERS of Easingwold Golf Club have donated over £2,500 to a testimonial fund to mark the 25th anniversary in post of their golf professional, John Hughes.
Hughes, 50, received the gift together with a silver salver from club captain Michael Dobson at an evening presentation at the clubhouse.
He said that among the highpoints of his time at Easingwold were recent improvements totalling £250,000 to the clubhouse and training ground, and complete equality for women golfers.
His best-ever score is 64 and he has achieved a hole-in-one a total of six times, as well as winning the York Open Golf Championship on three occasions.
Hughes is to continue as Easingwold's professional.
