SESSIONS 'A' continue to head division one of York and District Table Tennis Association from York RI 'B'.
York RI 'B' beat Bootham CC 'A' 9-1 with John Hughes and Doug Bartle each winning three.
York RI 'A' defeated Poppleton 'A' 6-4. Mark Smith won all three for Poppleton 'A' but was pushed hard by RI's Brian Quinn Smith who won 20-22 21-9 27-25. Coneysthorpe 'B' easily beat the bottom team INL 'B' 9-1. Mike Fenby and Mick Burnett were unbeaten for Coneysthorpe. Ian Stansfield was unbeaten for Coneysthorpe 'A' as they beat INL 'B' 8-2.
Poppleton 'B' hold a slender lead in division two as second placed York RI 'C' kept up the pressure with 8-2 win over INL 'C'. Chris Tiffany and Richard McCarthey each winning three for RI 'C'. Terry Nicholson was on top form with three wins as Sessions 'C' beat Northern Electric 7-3. Colin Dobson had a good 21-9 21-4 victory over Keith Elsegood.
Jill Schofield won all three for Nestl Rowntree 'B' as her team edged out York RI 'D' 6-4. Anne Barnard played well for RI to win twice.
Richard Ingleby, of Bootham CC 'C', won all three of his matches against Fulford Road WMC 'B'.
Howard Broadbent also enjoyed a good night with a hat-trick of wins to help BT 'A' to a 7-3 win over Nestl Rowntree 'A' 7-3.
Poppleton 'C' have a commanding lead in division three over BT 'B'. Poppleton 'C' beat Bootham CC 'D' 7-2 but both teams each only managing to field two players. York RI 'E' eased their relegation worries with a 7-3 win over York Police, whose Jim Noble enjoyed three wins.
York RI 'F' player Dennis Chapman was unbeaten as the division four leaders beat Norwich Union 'B' 8-2.
He was also unbeaten in the 8-2 win against Shepherds 'C' and when they played out a 5-5 draw with their 'G' team who were 4-1 down at one stage.
