CALLUM McKay was to the fore as Copmanthorpe thumped Wigginton Black Horse 5-0 in the fourth round of the York FA Saturday Reserve Cup.

He hit the back of the net four times as the Leeper Hare Reserve 'C' high-fliers turned on the style.

Only a superb last-ditch tackle by Black Horse's Neil Godwin denied Paul Scurry, but Copmanthorpe deservedly took the lead after 25 minutes when Andrew Manns netted from 15 yards, following a Darren Hughes free-kick.

Three minutes later a through ball from veteran Roy Atkinson found McKay who increased Copmanthorpe's lead.

Black Horse never gave up the fight and early in the second half had two shots cleared off the line, but with 20 minutes of the game remaining an Atkinson free kick found an unmarked McKay to nod home.

With the game virtually settled McKay added two further goals.

Old Malton beat Riccall 3-0 but the margin of victory could have been bigger but for a great display by the Riccall goalkeeper.

Paul Boyes opened the scoring on 12 minutes. Seb Towse made it 2-0 after a 25-yard run and cool finish before Sam Lander completed the scoring.

Pocklington eased past Huntington 4-0, opening the scoring after ten minutes, when a hesitant Huntington defence let in James Rudd who chipped over the 'keeper. Two minutes later Owen Ellis made it 2-0.

The game was settled in the 68th minute when Les Falkingham added number three from the penalty spot. Huntington were down to ten players when Martin Hewitson was sent off after comments made to the referee.

Ellis then added the goal of the game when he dribbled past five defenders to seal victory.

In the York FA Sunday Morning Junior Cup fourth round Thorpe United beat Burnholme SC 6-1.

Shane Fingleton opened the scoring for Thorpe after 20 minutes and five minutes later Dean Wood completed a fine team move to increase Thorpe's lead.

By half-time Mark Cahill had scrambled in the third goal for Thorp.

Lee Farmery pulled a goal back but within a minute Thorpe had regained their advantage through a Paul Matthewson header. Further goals for Thorpe came from Wood and Andrew Moore.

Acomb SC looked in deep trouble at home to Hemingbrough when they were 1-0 down and reduced to ten men after 25 minutes, Andy Welsh having been sent off for a second bookable offence.

But the ten men drew level when Vinny Wray scrambled the ball in. Carl Welsh made it 2-0 with a 25-yard screamer with 20 minutes of the game remaining.

Hemingbrough threw everything at their opponents but Acomb held on for a stunning 2-1 victory.

BH Colts put up a great fight against Yorkshire Herald with full-back Nicky Mennell outstanding.

They held the Herald until 55 minutes when, after a free kick, Jamie Backhouse netted from 35 yard. Paul Dunn then clinched Herald's 2-0 win.

Raskelf Rovers started their quarter-final against Black Bull with only eight players and it was half time before they were up to full strength. That was too late and Black Bull ran out easy comfortable 6-3 winners.

York Railway Institute Under 15s were too strong for Dunnington Under 14s winning 9-2 in the only York FA Intermediate Minor Cup round four tie with a double hat-trick from Luke Richardson, two goals from Jason May and a goal by Phillip Martin.

Dominant Dunnington beat Sherburn White Rose 3-0 in the York FA Acaster Steel Cup round four.

Dunnington took the lead just before half-time when Scott Nichols broke clear.

Ten minutes into the second half Nichols was the provider for Matthew Wilks to score. The final goal came when Nichols went on a mazy run past five defenders before slotting the ball home.
