JUBILANT York air enthusiast Andy Jenkins was finally being released from prison this afternoon.
After a wait in jail of more than a month, Andy and his 11 fellow British plane spotters were being ferried out of Nafplion prison, two by two.
It is believed the prison authorities were unable to secure the use of a bus to transport the group to the local police station, where they were to be officially discharged. Instead, they were taken in groups of two in a white Citroen car.
The group was due to be transferred to Athens tonight, a journey of about two hours, where they would receive a debriefing from British consul Donald Holder.
Andy's sister, Adele Yon, said she was delighted he was about to be on his way home.
