The 98 entry York Amalgamation Fur and Feather on the Ouse below York saw the river carrying two feet of cold floodwater.
Odd bream and skimmers made the frame look respectable in a generally poor match where the last of the 30 Christmas bonus prizes was won with barely a pound.
Nigel Baker led from peg 7 in the Pumper. The genial Anglers Corner boss used a caster feeder and worm for a 3lb bream plus a skimmer, a perch and an eel for 5lb 10oz to pick up well over £200 in cash and festive goodies.
Bill Collier (Union) was not far behind from a peg on the Palace Bend. Similar tactics to the winner found three good skimmers plus tommy ruffes for 5lb 2oz.
Others: Mick Addinall (Spectrum) 5-0-0; Stan Haigh (Anglers World) 4-6-0; Jason Barker (Acomb Tackle) 3-11-0; Colin Hibberd (Tang Hall Match Group) 3-8-0.
The Ouse above York was still a yard above normal for the Leeds Fur and Feather fished at Hunters Lodge, Thorpe Underwood and Widdington.
Barbara Jeffries (Armley Angling) showed the 79 male competitors a clean pair of high heels with a classy win from peg 10 at Thorpe.
Alternating maggot on bomb and pole at ten metres she netted around 30 roach to 10oz for her 7lb 6oz.
Surprise of the day came at peg 3 where Albert Hall (Poole) latched into a 3lb salmon that snapped up his stick float and maggot. After being weighed the silver bullet was returned to carry on its upstream journey.
The fun didn't end there, though. His only other bite came from a bream of 5lb 8oz which was enough for second.
Tommy Pitts (Marsh Tackle) had 4lb 7oz of roach on caster feeder from the peg next to the winner.
Others: Martyn Highe (Hirst Tackle) 3-15-0; John Cyrowski (Armley Angling) 3-10-0; Stuart Wilson (Hirst Tackle) 3-7-0.
Big Terry Carlton (Acomb Tackle) won Sunday's open on Horseshoe Lake at Raker with a fine 25-12-0 of roach and small carp from peg 14.
Fishing pole at 14 metres with maggot over chopped worm he netted small fish steadily all day to take an easy victory.
Others: Paul Stead (JT Rogers) 13-0-0; Paul Kozyra (Anglers Corner) 12-6-0; Steve Hodson (RSPS) 10-2-0.
Peg 62 came up trumps again on a bitter North Yorkshire afternoon at the Oaks, Sessay.
John Holmes (Edgeley Sport) was on the hot spot and took full advantage. After a slow start on bomb and maggot to the aerator he switched to 16 metre pole and maggot to the corner where he found a steady stream of carp to 5lb for 52lb 2oz.
Mark Vanderkamp (Sensas Garbolino) continued his good run of form on the venue with second from peg 55. Fishing pole and maggot at ten metres over sillybait he netted an all carp 44lb 14oz.
Others: Roger Holmes (MAP Elton) 34-0-0; John Allerton (Tricast Whizzo) 30-5-0; Steve Coxley (Edgeley Sport) 25-15-0; George Webb (Cleveland Angling Centre) 22-10-0.
Dave Pimlot (Keenets Elton) left it late at Woodlands with nothing in the net until the last hour and a half in Sunday's 55 pegger.
Fishing corn at 11 metres from peg 27 on Partridge lake the late afternoon sun must have warmed the water just enough as the carp turned on and he hauled out 30lb 10oz of fish to 6lb in a frantic finale.
Ian Thompson (Elton Tackle) did things at a more leisurely pace from Curlew 5 where he took a steady 24lb 7oz of small carp on maggot feeder.
Others: Paul Clarke (Normark) 23-14-0; Daz Taylor (Greggs) 20-15-0; Steve Walker (Quaker Tackle) 18-14-0; Paul McBrinn (Normark) 18-9-0.
