Stephen Lewis's hard-hitting article about homelessness (December 6), really struck a chord with me, because I had recently been talking to a homeless man myself.
He's a man who I'll call Tim. He's not a drug addict or work shy, merely a displaced person.
Like the people Stephen Lewis interviewed, Tim has a similar story to tell: he is homeless (he lives in a tent), and because he doesn't have a home he
can't find work.
Having to wear callipers on his legs makes life even more daunting for him.
Life's rollercoaster is all down for people like Tim. How can our society be deemed civilised while this appalling state of affairs continues year after year?
