A YOUNG student suffered suspected spinal injuries after he was mowed down in a suspected hit-and-run accident.
The teenager, aged between 16 and 18, was found by the side of the road in Pennypot Lane, Harrogate, yesterday.
It is believed he had been walking towards the Army Foundation College and is understood to have received serious injuries. He was wearing dark clothes and white trainers.
It is not known how the student, who has not yet been named, was injured, but officers fear he may have been struck by a vehicle.
Anyone who witnessed the accident or saw the student walking along the road is asked to ring police on (01423) 539474.
