ON the up - that's Acomb's ace trampolinist Samantha McNichol.
The rising star from the York Community and Gymnastic Foundation returned from the national grade two level trampoline finals in Hull with a top-level placing.
The 12-year-old finished 25th out of the 249 competitors who gathered in Hull, an accomplished performance that earned her grade one level status.
Said Mark Wild, who coaches at the York club with Samantha Harrison: "She has had a great season.
"And to reach the national qualification level for grade one is a tremendous achievement."
To achieve her Hull placings Samantha, who was second in the Yorkshire championships earlier in the year, had to complete ten compulsory skill routines followed by ten of her own choice.
A trampolinist for the past five years she trains five hours a week and has now started her winter programme ahead of next year's leap into a new bout of competitions.
