VOLUNTEERS continue to lead the way in division one after their 5-3 win over Acomb WMC.

Acomb took the lead through Rankeillor, but goals from Ward and Bond saw Volunteers lead 2-1 at half time. Two more from Stephen Ward completed his hat-trick and Bonarius made it 5-1 before two late goals from Hewitson and Wayne Carter on his debut gave the scoreline some respectability.

Nestl Rowntree remain second after their 1-1 draw with Hounds, Jones giving them the lead before Jackson earned a point for Hounds.

Dave Iddon gave New Earswick a third-minute lead at home to Marcia and further goals from Clothier and Deighton secured a 3-0 win.

Two goals for Wilford and one for Stuttard to a single retort from Andy Appleton seemed to be enough to give Derwent Utd victory, but two late goals from Rich Harland earned Carlton a deserved point.

In division four, Hemingbrough took the lead in the first half through Jackson, but Black Bull took command in the second period with two goals each from Stewart Scott and Dan Lindsey to run out 4-1 winners.

A single strike from Tom Coates was enough to keep Wigginton GH in second place with a narrow 1-0 win over Fulford WMC.

York Nomads remain top after a narrow 2-1 win at bottom club Linton-on-Ouse thanks to goals from Paul Kilgour and an own goal. Mason scored for Linton.

Opticare maintained their four-point lead at the top of division five with a hard-earned 4-2 win at Sporting Civil Service.

Greyhound continued their run of form with a 4-3 win at Inland Revenue.

They dominated the first half with goals from Rich Kerrison and a penalty from Lee Davison.

Inland Revenue started the second half strongly and goals from Burn, Ingram and Pearce saw them lead 3-2.

The turning point came when Wright had the chance to extend their lead from the penalty spot, but had his kick brilliantly saved by John Towse. That inspired Greyhound and two further goals from Kerrison to complete his hat-trick enabled Greyhound to snatch victory.

In the top-of-the-table clash in division six second-placed Hambleton leap-frogged hosts and leaders Kings Arms after goals from Reay (2), Dunn and Croad clinched a 4-1 triumph. Sorby scored Kings Arms consolation.

Roger Lorrains gave Beefeater the lead at CPP, but goals from Humphreys and Staples saw CPP in front at the break. Sam James then scored twice to restore the lead for Beefeater and despite fierce pressure they held on for a 3-2 victory.
