IN the article 'Branch out' (Property Press, November 29), Jo Haywood questions the wisdom of calling a house Three Trees when there are more than three trees in the garden.

Well it was nothing to do with the trees in the garden but referred to the three trees in the field that was opposite. The field belonged to my grandfather and my father built our bungalow on the land in 1953. Soon after he realised that two of the trees kept a lot of light out of the bungalow so he decided to have them lopped.

The owner of Three Trees (whose name escapes me) was worried that we were going to cut the trees down and that had him worried. So that is how we found out why his house was called Three Trees.

Our bungalow by the way was called Fairview because when it was built we had good views both back and front. Perhaps now it should be called "Cantseemuchforotherhouses" but it's not very catchy is it?
