THE team behind a guide to courses at York College has been presented with a national award.
York College's prospectus has won this year's FE First Award for the best further education prospectus.
Judge Kathryn Boak said: "This is a sophisticated prospectus that combines classy design with comprehensive academic information. I imagine a huge amount of effort and co-ordination has gone in to it. The front cover is exciting, and who wouldn't want to join this group of young people at the college?"
The prospectus details courses available for students aged 16 to 19.
Ken Sayers, designer of the prospectus, said: "I wanted to get as much colour and imagery into each page as I could. The front cover has been viewed as quite controversial as it depicts a modern image of students covered in graffiti, on the back drop of a brick wall. What I'm particularly proud of is the flicker book effect that shows 'Welcome to York College' in sign language."
And project manager Helen Ward said: "The prospectus is the result of a huge team effort, involving all the members of the marketing and design team, as well as consultation with local schools and careers advisers."
