York's ladies completed their club's hat-trick of successes with victory over Scarborough in their second North Eastern League game.
They were determined to make up for a terrible display in their first league game and did so with some impressive performances, especially from Pat Bracken, Clarice Johnson, Ann Illingworth and Maureen Robinson.
They looked set for a massive defeat when trailing 18-7 after ten ends, but a great comeback saw them take the game 31-28.
In the other rink at Scarborough, Cath Blease, Doreen Arnett, Jean Williams and Pat Lofthouse were in close contention up to the 15th end when they trailed 16-13, but they only managed two more singles and lost 20-15.
Early on in the game, York were struggling to keep up with Scarborough's aggregate scores as three rinks were behind, but Joyce Gee, Marilyn Andrews, Ann Coatesworth and Ida West kept their hopes alive as they won 24-16.
In the other home rink, Margaret Smith, Brenda Love, Ann Fowler and Audrey Wragg showed their resilience as they turned a 13-4 deficit after nine ends into a lead with a six and a five on successive ends.
