CHAMPION fundraisers have been hailed following the success of a charity event earlier this year.
More than £15,000 was raised during a sponsored walk around York Minster, organised by the British Orthopaedic Charity.
Those particularly mentioned included Joan Williams, who had the highest number of sponsors, and 25-year-old Samantha Farrell who was the youngest walker.
Also mentioned were Ruby Moore, of Cawood, who obtained the greatest sponsorship. And tributes have been paid to fundraiser Daisy Addy, who died recently aged 89.
Tony Gibbon, consultant orthopaedic surgeon at York District Hospital, said: "I would like to thank all those who have generously donated to the charity.
"The money raised will be divided between the orthopaedic department at York District Hospital and the national charity for orthopaedic research and education projects."
