FORMER Evening Press man Paul Stevenson has been appointed head of marketing for NTL in North Yorkshire.
He will also be responsible for the cable communication company's activities in the rest of the north east and the East Midlands.
When Paul, 31, was marketing manager for newspaper publishers Newsquest, working at the Evening Press in York and in Darlington, he won two awards for excellence in promotional marketing campaigns.
He went on to join Experian, the information solutions company, as consultant for its micromarketing division.
Now he will head an NTL department of five in a drive for improved customer service. Born in Doncaster, his heavy South African accent testifies to the fact that he moved to the republic aged 12, and he began his marketing career there with the Nissan and later Toyota, before returning to England aged 24.
