WITH reference to your front page report "Sex shock in empty church" (November 26), an elderly couple encountered a group of young adults 'as high as kites' outside St Wilfrid's church on Duncombe Place. The couple were then 'horrified' to find two of them having sex in the church porch!
What I found laughable was that the elderly couple were said to be 'sickened' 'distraught' and 'too frightened to be named'.
Perhaps these sheltered souls have been cocooned in their Christian beliefs to the extent that seeing the harsh side of life for once, has shocked them. Clearly, the Catholic religion failed to prepare them.
Let's keep things in perspective! There are far worse things happening, in this country and throughout the world, than a bit of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll 'desecrating' empty St Wilfrid's entrance.
