MIDFIELDER cum striker Lee Bullock vowed that York City will bounce back from defeat at Darlington, writes Tony Curtis.

Three defensive errors saw Darlington score three times and take the victory, but Bullock believes the Minstermen will be back.

"We had a lot of possession but we didn't take our chances," he said.

"We could have been 2-0 up before we gave a stupid goal away again.

"That is the way things are going at the moment and we need to stop it and stop it fast.

"The lads are very disappoined and the manager is gutted, but we are determined to turn things around.

"We've bounced back before, so we will do it again. We will get our heads up.

"We've got a good set of lads, but we are just conceding stupid goals from individual errors.

"We just got to defend more solidly as a team."

Bullock, who was doubt before the game after suffering a groin strain, battled hard in the unaccustomed role as a striker.

With Lee Nogan failing to recover from a calf injury, Bullock found himself thrust into the role as Michael Proctor's strike partner and even won a penalty - which Chris Brass unfortunately scuffed wide.

"I haven't played up-front since I was at school, but I was trying to get knock downs for 'Proc' (Michael Proctor) and get him involved as much as I could," he said.

"The penalty miss could have turned the game but that is the way it goes."

City boss Terry Dolan sighed: "In the first 20 minutes we should have been 3-0 up, but two minutes later we are two down then its an uphill battle."
