THE new Basketball Academy at York College has got off to a flying start with 17 full-time students on board.
The team coaching is provided by Eddie Allen and Neil Kelsey, while individual tuition is given by David Smith, the Academy's co-ordinator and the English Basketball Director of Coaching.
Smith is clearly impressed with what he has seen so far. He said: "The 17 registered students have shown great enthusiasm.
"They have won their first three competitive games - one being against last year's junior National League champions."
Anyone interested in enrolling for next year's Academy should contact Gordon Staniforth at York College on (01904) 770482.
