YORK Wasps are to help raise money for the New York fund during Sunday's Northern Ford Premiership opener with Whitehaven.
The club, who are sponsored by the New York Economic Council, will donate a £1 for every person who turns up for the clash, as well as holding a collection at half-time.
The Fire Brigade will be popping along to the game, subject to call outs, to help with the fund-raising, while the club have invited council dignitaries to watch the fun as well.
Meanwhile, the Wasps have also teamed up with their sponsors to sell replica shirts on their website, www.newyorkbiz.com
For every shirt sold on the site, £5 will be donated to the charity.
Wasps fans will get their chance to meet the new-look squad at a get together at Huntington Stadium tonight.
Supporters are advised to turn up at 8.30pm for a 9pm start.
