YORK City boss Terry Dolan is not set to further his interest in Norwegian defender Roar Fredriksen after watching him play for the Reserves in their 4-1 defeat by Grimsby.
Fredriksen had been training with the club for the past few days in a bid to secure a free transfer from Norwegian first division club Sogndal IL, but despite bundling home the Minstermen's only goal from a corner, the 30-year-old will not be staying at the club.
Boss Dolan confirmed: "I don't think we will be taking our interest any further."
Encouragingly for Dolan, Mike Basham lasted the full 90 minutes of the defeat after recovering from an ankle injury, while young striker Scott Emmerson also managed 80 minutes.
Unfortunately Christian Fox faces another spell in the treatment room after he twisted his ankle.
Dolan will find out to today the extent of the injuries sustained by Lee Nogan, Neville Stamp and Alex Mathie after the trio picked up injuries in the heroic win over Colchester on Tuesday night.
Nogan (calf), Stamp (hamstring) and Mathie (groin) were all handed a day off to rest their injuries, and Dolan has refused to rule them out of consideration for Saturday's division three clash at Darlington.
