The final obstacle to Robbie Fowler's £11million transfer from Liverpool to Leeds United was removed when he passed the last in a series of medical tests.
Fowler completed his second day of medicals and was paraded before the media at a press conference today.
It means the signing will be completed in time for the Anfield favourite to make his Leeds debut on Sunday at Fulham where he scored on his first appearance for Liverpool in a Coca-Cola Cup tie eight years ago.
Leeds manager David O'Leary said: "Robbie's arrival really excites me. He can score a lot of goals for us. It is a sign of how far we have moved on as a club when people like Robbie Fowler and Rio Ferdinand want to come to Leeds. At the price we have paid it is a great signing."
Leeds winger Jason Wilcox is convinced Fowler can be just as popular with Leeds fans as he was with his doting fans at Anfield.
Wilcox said: "Robbie is a class player who will fit in really well. He has come to a great club.
"He is a natural goalscorer and the fans will love him here.
"Every signing the manager has made has reflected the high ambitions of the club."
