A NEW bus service linking the west of York to the city centre will be launched tomorrow.
Top Line Travel's hourly number 19 Acomb route - the Piccadilly Line - will run from Piccadilly to Askham Lane and Cornlands Road, from Mondays to Saturdays.
The single-decker will leave Piccadilly at five past the hour and Cornlands Road at half past the hour, with minor variations before 9am and after 5pm to allow for peak traffic.
The Lord Mayor of York, Coun Irene Waudby, will officially launch the service.
Company owner Peter Dew said: "York's smaller bus companies can fill some of the gaps left in the main route network, and this service puts a bus back in Askham Lane as well as restoring the link from Cornlands Road to the City Centre via Acomb Road."
"Like all new buses, it has wheelchair and buggy access, but this one has more room than others."
