Heworth 'A' continued their unbeaten run in York Conservative Clubs' Carlsberg Tetley Snooker League with a 5-2 victory over Acomb 'A' to extend their lead to eight points.
Richie Burdett won the first frame for Heworth, but Acomb went in front as Richard Harris and Keith Myers inflicted the first defeats of the season on Jason Milner and Dave Taylor respectively.
Steve Burdett levelled the match by halting Mick Frampton's winning run and then John Anderson, Clive Whyte and Neil Wood (with a close win over Gerald Mackenzie) secured the match for Heworth.
Bootham 'B' moved into second spot with a 6-1 thrashing of Fulford 'B', which pushed Acomb 'A' into third place.
George Toone won the first frame for Fulford and remains unbeaten, then wins by Jeff Brown (29 break), Tim Fillingham (22), Chris Granger, George Long (30), Ray Stamp and John Wortley made it 6-1 for Bootham.
Bootham 'A', with a 5-2 win, dropped Fulford 'A' into bottom spot. John Darley, Mark Darley (37 break), Brian Coulson, Barry Rankin (24) and Ken Taylor won for Bootham. Simon England and Richard Stroughair replied for Fulford.
Heworth 'B' moved up two places to fifth with a 5-2 win over Acomb 'B'. Heworth's winners were Alf Appleby, Huw Faircliffe, Pat Johns, John Sherlock and Keith Watkinson, with replies by John Hutchinson and Jeff Keen.
With two players losing their unbeaten records only two remain with six wins from six matches - George Toone (Fulford) and Clive Whyte (Heworth) - in the Willsden Steel 'Player of the Year' competition.
Bootham regained top spot in York Conservative clubs' Slater Cup Snooker Pairs League with a 5-2 win over Acomb by winning two of three black ball results in some high scoring games. Acomb are one point in arrears in second place.
Heworth won 5-2 against Fulford in a close match which had five black ball results.
Acomb had their second consecutive 7-0 win as they whitewashed Bootham 'A' to increase their lead to ten points in York Conservative clubs' Faber Shield Billiards League.
The winning team was Mick Frampton (who beat John Darley by five points), Ian Gillies and Bob Ventress (who each won by one point) John Hutchinson, Keith Myers and Trevor Ventress.
Bootham 'A' continue in second place despite winning half of the games.
Fulford were unable to gain their first victory of the season as they went down 4-3 to Bootham 'B' by reason of the aggregate point.
Bootham's winners were Tom Bamford, Tim Fillingham and Ray Stamp, with replies by Roger Gibson, Colin Neal and Alan Reed.
