TWO ambulance services will learn together after joining forces to set up a new staff training school.
The Ambulance Training School, at Burn Hall, Huby, near York, is to teach staff from both Tees, East and North Yorkshire Ambulance Service (TENYAS), and West Yorkshire Metropolitan Ambulance Service (WYMAS).
Operational training for new trainees, experienced technicians, paramedics and non-emergency drivers will now be centred at Burn Hall.
Previously, the two services had trained at centres in Hull, Birkenshaw, Middlesbrough and Northallerton.
Trevor Molton, chief executive of both ambulance services, said the Huby centre was ideal for TENYAS and WYMAS.
And he added that the two services were keen to work more closely together in the future.
"Talks are already ongoing about the kind of facilities we will need in the longer term," he said.
